My thesis on quadrocopters had a lot of unique ideas. One professor joked that it’s almost 3 thesis in one. The most apparent unique idea is using the landing legs to shroud the large, dangerous, and fragile propellers. There were many other unique ideas, like using a genetic algorithm to design a linkage for the copter or the 2D simulation and neural network based sorting algorithm.

Modeled and rendered in Creo. Accurate weights and densities were used to ensure lift and maneuverability.

The constructed prototype based on the render. It uses an Udoo rather than a raspberry pi for extra computing power.
